About URM
Since 1999
Upper Room Ministries began April 4th, 1999 at the Holiday Inn on Old Dixie Highway. In May of 1999, The Lord moved Upper Room Ministries to 213-G Arrowhead Boulevard in Jonesboro, GA. At the time, the church had four members which included Pastor Collins, Co-Pastor Collins, their daughters Monica and Makia. The Lord then blessed Co-Pastor and Pastor Collins with another daughter named Maya Collins in 2000.

During the year of 2000, the church was under heavy pressure but Pastor continued to believe God. God challenged Pastor to preach and teach as thought she was preaching to hundreds and hundreds of people. God began to add to the church more and more in 2001. As membership increased, the church had to relocate. Upper Room Ministries moved to 587 Garden Walk Boulevard, College Park, GA in August 2002. The church continued to grow, membership continued to increase in numbers, many heard about the signs and wonders flowing from the house of God. The Lord started to add unto the church as he saw fit.

Upper Room has been known for their style of developing the entire family with interactive bible study for all, a low cost summer program that enables the children to come to a safe environment filled with fun in the sun in Jesus name, a low cost pre-K school for children ages 2-4 and a low cost private school for kindergarten to 8th grade. These schools allow parents to obtain private schooling for their children with God being the foundation in their curriculum. God gave the names Joshua Christian Academy for ages 2-4 which began August 2006. We have seen great results in our school with our first graduate having the honor to have luncheon with the governor of our state, Nathan Deal and his wife, Ms. Sandra Deal. God has really blessed our schools.

Upper Room Ministries have also developed the entire family through involvement in varies church auxiliaries which include the Mass Choir, T.D. Collins Anointed Voices (ages 13-25), Youth In Action (ages 2-12), The Drama Team, Usher Board, Nurses, Deacon and Deaconess Board, Spiritual Dance Team, Praise Team, Leadership Staff, Men of Power, Women of Power, Music Staff, Tape Staff, Cooks, Armor Bearers, Ministerial Staff, Hostess and much, much more for the family to be a part of the family of God.

Upper Room Ministries service times are Sunday School at 9:30a.m., Sunday Morning Worship at 10:45a.m., and Wednesday Bible Study at 7:15p.m. We invite you to come out and share an Upper Room experience.

A Letter from Apostle
Dear Saints of God,
​
Greetings and welcome in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to our 20th Church Anniversary. God has been so good to us. He has kept us in Him all these years and I am so grateful. If I had ten thousand tongues, it wouldn't be enough to express my gratitude to our God for all He has done for Upper Room. If he didn't do anything else, He has already done more than we could have ever expected and we say, "Thank you God for all you have done for us in Jesus name".
Many people through every walk of life have been through the Upper Room from the least to the greatest to feel the power of God. We have seen so many souls get saved by the power of God. We have seen lives changed and we have also seen miracles, signs and wonders. We have seen it all in the Upper Room. We have seen them leave the crack house, the bootleg house, the club house and living lives changed. We have seen God perform miracles in the courtrooms, in jail and behind prison walls by setting His people free through the prayers of the righteous. We have seen God heal them in the hospice and the nursing home. We have seen God heal them in the hospital when the doctor gave up, we seen the real DOCTOR step in and perform a miracle.

All I'm trying to say is look how far we have come in God in faith, 20 years in Jesus name. I say to you during this celebrated time, what ever you desire in God in Jesus name, keep the faith in Him and WALK IT OUT!

What We Believe
The Bible - We believe the Bible, the Scripture, both Old and New Testament divinely inspired Word of God and the final authority for life.
Godhead - We believe Jesus to be the only begotten Son of God, the Creator of heaven and earth and is eternal and Triune in three manifestations: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ - We believe Jesus to be the only begotten Son of God. He was born and fully man conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin He died and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for our sins according to the scriptures. Jesus ascended into heaven and sits as our High Priest and Advocate the only mediator between God and man. Jesus is the truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.
Holy Spirit - We believe in the the Holy Spirit who is God indwelling, instructions empowering the believer, His fruit and His gifts reveal His presence in believers. He is our Comforter and the Spirit of Truth. His ministry is to glorify Jesus and to convict men of sin.
Man - We believe that man was created in the image of God as a spirit with body. Man fell into sin by eating the forbidden fruit. By one man, sin entered into the world, thus all have sinned and need salvation.
Salvation - We believe that salvation comes only through belief in Jesus Christ. The shed blood of Jesus atones for our sins and iniquity. therefore we are saved from eternal damnation.
Return of Jesus Christ - We believe in the imminent, personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His church.
Resurrection of the dead - We believe there will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead, the believer unto the resurrection of life and the unbeliever unto the resurrection of damnation.
Church - We believe that the true church is composed of all who have a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and are united together by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ.
Personal Relationship - We believe that every believer should have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Christian Living - We believe that godly living and the pursuit of a holy life should be the goal of every believer.
Evangelism - We believe in evangelism, discipleship and helping the needy as part of the great commission.
Baptism - We believe that water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Jesus Christ as personal savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life.
Communion - We believe the Lord's Supper is a memorial service proclaiming the Lord's death until He returns.
Baptism with the Holy Spirit - We believe in the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit - We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Healing and Deliverance - We believe that it is God's will to heal and deliver His people today just as he did in the days of the first Apostles.
Worship - We believe in worshipping the Lord in spirit and truth, song, dance and with the raising of our hands.
Tithe - We believe in the tithes and offerings to support the work of God.

Christian Academy
Upper Room Ministries Christian Academy is a Christian Private School founded on Biblical Principles. We approach Christian Education with the focal thought that we are not the final destination. Register now for the Fall 2023 semester.
